Tour Description
This tour will make you travel through picturesque landscapes, discover the wines of Tuscany by visiting a historic cellar and enjoy an exquisite lunch of typical local cuisine. After lunch you can take a walk in the medieval villages. The duration of the tour is 12 hours with departure from Rome at 7.30 am .
First Step
Cantina Ruffino, in the morning you will be welcomed at Tenuta Poggio Casciano, Ruffino’s flagship winery. During the guided tour, you will see the cellar, the vineyards, the wonderful gardens and learn about the history of the wine production of this area. Founded in 1877, it is one of the oldest wineries in Tuscany. The wines produced here have received numerous awards, past and present, and in the past Ruffino was also a supplier of the royal house. Shortly thereafter, the Ruffino label spread all over the world, and was the first Chianti to be exported to the United States.
Second Step
Gourmet lunch, at the famous Dario Cecchini restaurant, where you can taste the real Florentine steak, while sipping an excellent wine !
Third Step
Greve in Chianti, panoramic journey through the splendid landscape of the Chianti region with breathtaking views of vineyards, olive trees, oak woods, castles, churches and Renaissance villas. This beauty is the real treasure of Chianti, alongside its renowned red wine. Greve in Chianti is a medieval village and is the capital of the Chianti region.
Montefioralle, the history of Greve is inextricably linked to the imposing Montefioralle Castle which overlooks the town, and is one of the oldest villages in Chianti, still surrounded by its original defensive walls. Take a stroll along the medieval streets and take some photos of the town and its impressive surroundings
