Panoramic tour of the Castelli Romani, a set of villages perched on the Alban Hills, a few km from Rome, which are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Lazio. The duration of the tour is 10 hours, departing from Rome at 8.30 am
First Step
FRASCATI, the most famous of the Castelli Romani, renowned for the elegance of the Tuscolane Villas, sumptuous Renaissance and Baroque patrician residences, which the Roman nobility wanted to be built in the green of the Alban Hills, often on the remains of Roman villas and immersed in the greenery of splendid gardens and parks. We recommend a visit to: Villa Falconieri, Villa Aldobrandini, Villa Torlonia and the Aldobrandini Stables, which house an Archaeological Museum
GROTTAFERRATA, small and elegant, it is famous for the Abbey of San Nilo fortified with a massive crenellated wall, which houses Basilian Catholic monks who follow the Byzantine rite, of the church of Constantinople. The Church of Santa Maria is flanked by a Romanesque bell tower and the side nave contains the so-called Grotta Ferrata (crypta ferrata) and the Farnese Chapel with frescoes by Domenichino;
GENZANO, it is the city of the Infiorata, a historic event that mixes elements of religiosity with those of popular life. The Infiorata has been held since the end of the eighteenth century, on Corpus Domini Sunday, and every year attracts thousands of tourists. The main road that goes up to the Duomo hosts wonderful images, real works of art, built with the colored petals of the flowers.
NEMI, delightful medieval village gently nestled on the edge of the crater and surrounded by woods, overlooking a small volcanic lake. The charm of this village of ancient origins with the tower and the houses that are reflected in the blue waters of the lake, surrounded by reeds and strawberry greenhouses, has enchanted poets and painters from all over the world over the years.
Second Step
Lunch break in ARICCIA, a small town located between Albano and Genzano, famous all over the world for its “porchetta”, to which a festival is dedicated in September. This typical product, accompanied by a good glass of wine, can be tasted all year round in the various “fraschette” that populate the historic center.

CASTEL GANDOLFO, splendidly overlooking Lake Albano from the edge of the volcanic cone, Castel Gandolfo is known for the beauty of the nature that surrounds it and for the elegance of the historic center, which made it elected one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of Italy “. The town is famous all over the world because here is the summer residence of the Popes. The beautiful gardens also house the remains of the Villa of Domitian and the Vatican Farm.
